Good oral health is supported by everyday habits, and it’s easier to manage when you know what’s happening. General dentistry gives you a clear starting point: a chance to check your teeth and gums and understand whether any additional care is needed.
Gap Free* or Just $220 for Adults, $149 for Kids
*The gap-free offer applies only to eligible private health fund members. If your fund does not cover the full cost of treatment, you may be required to pay the difference.
At Box Hill Dental, we provide practical, considered care for children, adults and older patients in Box Hill and the surrounding community. Our general dentistry treatments cover the dental care most people need at different stages of life.

At a check-up, we carry out a routine dental exam, then follow up with a professional teeth cleaning to remove the plaque and tartar that brushing at home can miss. Seeing us regularly means we can pick up decay, cracks or gum problems early, while they're still small and simpler to treat.

We provide children's dentistry in a friendly and welcoming environment and also accept the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) for eligible children. CDBS may cover a range of basic, essential, and preventive dental treatments. If you're unsure whether your child qualifies, our team can help check eligibility and explain the available benefits.

If a tooth has decay, dental fillings are used to repair it. We use tooth-coloured material that matches the rest of your smile, so the repair is hard to spot. Before treatment, we'll explain why a filling is needed and what it involves before we begin.

When decay or damage reaches the nerve of a tooth, root canal treatment is often what allows a tooth to be saved. The treatment removes the affected tissue, cleans the inside of the tooth and seals it. Local anaesthesia is available.

A crown caps a tooth that's been weakened by a large filling, a crack or root canal treatment, to rebuild its strength and shape. A bridge fills the gap left by a missing tooth, using the teeth on either side for support. We colour-match both to the teeth around them.

Sometimes a tooth needs to be extracted for wellbeing reasons, and wisdom teeth that are crowded or impacted are a common example. We carry out extractions, including wisdom teeth removal, with local anaesthesia available, and we'll talk you through the aftercare so you know what to expect as you recover.

Healthy gums matter as much as healthy teeth. If your gums bleed, feel tender or have started to recede, gum disease treatment can help improve their health. We'll check your gums, clean below the gum line where needed, and set out a clear plan from there.

If you or your kids play contact sport, a custom-fitted sports mouthguard sits closely over the teeth to cushion them against knocks. We also make splints for grinding and clenching, which can help reduce wear on the teeth and ease jaw tension.

Dentures replace missing teeth and help restore how you eat and speak. We offer full and partial dentures, as well as snap-on and implant-supported dentures that clip onto implants for a more secure hold. We'll talk through which option suits your mouth and your budget.
We process private health insurance claims on the spot through HICAPS, and we accept the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), the Victorian General Dental Scheme (VGDS) and the Victorian Emergency Dental Scheme (VEDS) where you’re eligible. For larger treatment plans we offer flexible payment plans, so contact us to talk through the options.
